About this tool

Conversion is linear with the square metre as the base unit. The factors come directly from squared length definitions: 1 ft² = 0.09290304 m², 1 in² = 0.00064516 m², 1 yd² = 0.83612736 m², 1 acre = 4046.8564224 m², 1 hectare = 10000 m² and 1 mi² = 2589988.110336 m². The value is converted to square metres (value ÷ source factor) and multiplied by each target factor, keeping every result exact.
