About this tool
The Icebreaker Question Generator serves up curated conversation-starter questions tailored to the moment — a team standup, a classroom, a first date, a dinner party, or a virtual call. Unlike a generic random-question tool, every question here is tagged for a social context and a depth level, so the prompts actually fit the room.
Pick a context (work, team, classroom, first date, dinner party, or virtual) and a depth (light for warm-ups, medium for getting acquainted, deep for meaningful talk), then choose how many questions to draw, from 1 to 15. The tool filters the bank to entries matching both your context and depth, shuffles that subset with a Fisher-Yates shuffle powered by the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and returns the first N — sampling without replacement so no question repeats within a session.
Everything runs locally in your browser with a built-in question bank; nothing is uploaded and it works offline. Use Generate for a fresh set and Copy to drop the questions into a meeting agenda, slide, or chat.
