Everything is read and written locally with pdf-lib: your file never leaves your device, nothing is uploaded, and the edited PDF downloads straight from your browser. That matters here, because metadata is precisely the kind of hidden information (author names, employer software, timestamps) you may not want to hand to a third-party server.
Note that some PDF viewers and editors overwrite the Producer and modification date whenever they re-save a file, so those fields reflect the last tool that touched the document.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

How do I remove all metadata?
Click “Clear fields” to empty every field including the dates, then save — the new PDF is written with blank Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator and Producer entries, the creation and modification dates removed, and any embedded XMP metadata stream stripped out.
How should keywords be entered?
Separate them with commas (or semicolons), e.g. “invoice, 2026, acme”. They are stored in the PDF's standard Keywords field.
Does editing metadata change the document's content?
No. Pages, text and images are untouched — only the document information dictionary is rewritten, and any embedded XMP metadata stream is removed so viewers show your edited values instead of stale XMP entries.
