About this tool
Erase the background from a photo in one step. A neural network (the u2netp salient-object model) runs directly in your browser using WebAssembly, finds the main subject, and makes everything else transparent — so you can drop it on a white, colored, or transparent background. Unlike remove.bg and similar sites, your photo is never uploaded: the AI model downloads once to your device and every photo is processed locally. That means it's free, private, and keeps working offline after the first use.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser once (about 15 MB including the runtime) and runs on your device. Your image never leaves your computer — there's no server, no account, and no usage limit.
Why is the first run slower?
The first time, your browser downloads the AI model and the WebAssembly engine (~15 MB). After that they're cached, so the next photos process in about a second with no further download.
What's the output?
A PNG with a transparent background, at up to 4096 px on the longest side. You can also flatten it onto white, black, or any color you pick before downloading.
Will it work on hair and fine edges?
Switch to “Best quality” for the sharpest edges — it loads a larger, more accurate model (~43 MB, one time). “Fast” is great for clear subjects — people, products, animals on a contrasting background; very fine hair or busy backgrounds are where Best quality helps most. Both run entirely on your device.
