About this tool
Candle Wax & Fragrance Load Calculator is a free, in-browser tool for candle makers who need to know how much wax and fragrance oil to weigh out for a pour. Enter the volume of one container, how many containers you are filling, the wax type and your fragrance load, and it returns the total wax weight plus the matching fragrance-oil weight. Nothing is uploaded — every figure is computed on your device as you type.
The method converts container volume to millilitres (1 fl oz = 29.5735 ml), multiplies by the fill factor (80% by default, leaving headspace for the wick and melt pool), then by the wax density in grams per millilitre — soy and paraffin about 0.90, coconut 0.92 and beeswax 0.95 — to get the wax weight per container. That is multiplied by the container count for the total, and fragrance oil = total wax × load ÷ 100. Weights are shown in both grams and ounces.
Use the fragrance load field to stay within safe limits: 6–10% is typical, and most soy waxes hold at most about 10–12% before the oil weeps or the wick clogs. Because you weigh wax and fragrance rather than measuring by volume, always pour onto a scale for repeatable, well-scented candles.
