About this tool
The Date Format Converter turns a single date and time into several standard string representations at once. Pick a moment in the datetime-local field and it renders ISO 8601, RFC 2822, US (MM/DD/YYYY), EU (DD/MM/YYYY), a Unix timestamp in seconds, and localized long and short strings side by side.
The field is pre-filled with the current local time, so a full set of formats appears immediately, and typing or picking any value updates every tile live. The date is read in your browser's time zone, and the ISO and RFC outputs carry that UTC offset. Click any tile to copy its value to the clipboard.
Formatting runs entirely on your device using the browser's built-in Date and Intl APIs. Nothing is uploaded, there are no accounts or tracking, and it keeps working offline.
Frequently asked questions
Which time zone is used?
The date you pick is read in your browser's local time zone. The ISO 8601 and RFC 2822 outputs include that UTC offset, and the Unix value is the matching number of seconds since the 1970 epoch.
How do I copy a format?
Click any tile and its formatted value is copied straight to your clipboard.
Is the Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds?
Seconds. It is the whole number of seconds since 1970-01-01 UTC, obtained by flooring the underlying millisecond value.
What do the different tiles contain?
ISO and RFC carry the full date, time and offset; US and EU show date only, as MM/DD/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY; and the long and short tiles are localized strings built from your page language, the long one with a full date and seconds, the short one compact.
