Kids Clothing Size Calculator

Convert a child's height, age and weight into US, EU and UK kids clothing sizes, with the matching age range. Height-first for the best fit.

Kids' sizes are approximate and vary by brand and country. Height gives the best fit; use the age range as a cross-check.

About this tool

This calculator maps a child's measurements to children's clothing sizes in the US, EU and UK systems, all in your browser with nothing uploaded. Enter the child's age, height and optional weight; height is the most reliable guide, so it drives the result while age acts as a fallback and weight as a tiebreaker.

EU children's sizes are based directly on height in centimeters, stepping through standard increments (50, 56, 62, 68, 74, 80, 86, 92, 98, 104 and up), so the tool finds the nearest EU size for the height entered and reads the matching US label (Newborn, 0–3M through 24M, then 2T–6T and 7–16) and UK age band from the same chart. If you provide a weight that is high for the height, it nudges the recommendation up one size.

Growth varies a lot between children, so use the age range shown to sanity-check the fit rather than relying on age alone. When a child is between sizes, the larger size usually gives more wear before it is outgrown.

Frequently asked questions

Why is height used instead of age?
Children of the same age can differ by several sizes, but clothing — especially EU sizing — is built around height in centimeters. Height gives a far more reliable fit, so it drives the result and age is only a fallback.
Do I have to enter weight?
No. Weight is optional and only acts as a tiebreaker: if it is high for the child's height, the tool suggests sizing up by one so the garment isn't too snug.
What do US labels like 2T or 4T mean?
The T stands for toddler. Toddler sizes (2T–5T) are cut for children still in the toddler stage, while the plain numbers (4–16) are 'kids' or 'youth' sizing for older children.
Are these sizes exact?
No — kids' sizing is approximate and varies by brand and country. Treat the result as a guide, use the age range as a cross-check, and consult the specific brand's chart when possible.
