Files and signatures stay in this tab. Download your result before closing it.
A real application packet, merged without an upload
Rental, job and visa applications often ask for one PDF with the pages in a set order, but the documents are full of personal details. This example uses three fictional sample files so you can repeat it exactly. Download them, then in the tool above choose Add files and add them in this order:
- Rental application: 2 pages, 87,383 bytes
- Cover letter: 1 page, 57,039 bytes
- Pay summary: 1 page, 59,385 bytes
The workspace shows four page thumbnails: application page 1, application page 2, cover letter, pay summary. The cover letter should come first, so select page 3, set Move to position to 1 and move it. Then choose Create PDF.
In Google Chrome 155, the downloaded result had 4 pages in the order cover letter, application page 1, application page 2, pay summary, and measured 240,621 bytes. That is larger than the three sources combined (203,807 bytes): merging copies each file's pages and embedded fonts rather than recompressing them. If a portal has a size limit, try Compress PDF on the result and check that the text is still readable.
Before you send the file, open it and check every page: merging copies pages as they are and does not redact anything on them. It cannot open password-protected PDFs; unlock those with Unlock PDF first if you know the password. Need to drop or reorder pages later? Use Reorder PDF Pages or Split PDF.
The three source documents are fictional samples made for this example and released under CC0. The figures above describe one browser run; other PDFs or browsers can produce different sizes. Your own files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to UtilsWorld.
