About this tool
The NATO phonetic alphabet is a spelling alphabet that swaps each letter for a fixed code word — Alfa, Bravo, Charlie on through Zulu — so letters can't be confused when read aloud over radio, phone, or any noisy line. Type or paste text and each character is mapped to its code word live, with a Copy button for the result.
Input is case-insensitive: the 26 letters A to Z become their code words and the digits 0 to 9 become Zero through Nine. Spaces between words are kept as a wider gap, so each word's code words stay grouped and easy to read back. Any character with no code word — punctuation, symbols, accented or non-Latin letters — is skipped rather than shown.
Everything runs 100% in your browser. There are no uploads, no accounts, and no tracking, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
