Overtime & Time-and-a-Half Calculator

Overtime pay, total earnings and blended hourly rate from your base rate, hours and multiplier.

About this tool

Overtime & Time-and-a-Half Calculator is a free, in-browser wage tool that computes what your extra hours are worth. Enter your base hourly rate, regular and overtime hours for the pay period, and the overtime multiplier — 1.5 for time-and-a-half, 2 for double time, or any custom factor your contract specifies.

Overtime pay is base rate × multiplier × overtime hours; total earnings add regular pay (base × regular hours) on top. The blended rate divides total pay by total hours, showing what you effectively earned per hour across the whole period.

Use it to check a payslip after a heavy week or to see what picking up eight extra hours at 1.5× actually adds. All figures are computed live and locally in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What multiplier should I use?
1.5 (time-and-a-half) is the most common statutory overtime premium, 2 (double time) often applies to holidays or long days, but rules vary by country and contract — enter whatever factor applies to you.
What is the blended hourly rate?
Total pay divided by total hours worked (regular + overtime); it sits between your base and overtime rates and shows your true average earning per hour for the period.
Do the hours have to be weekly?
No — the tool has no fixed period, so enter regular and overtime hours for whatever span your pay covers (a week, a fortnight or a month) and the totals apply to that span.
Is anything I enter sent to a server?
No. The page is static and all wage math runs locally in your browser — nothing about your pay is uploaded or stored.
