Triangle Solver

Solve any triangle from SSS, SAS, ASA or AAS using the law of sines and cosines.

Angles are in degrees; side a is opposite angle A.

About this tool

Choose which values you know (three sides, two sides and the included angle, or angles with a side), enter them, and get every remaining side, all three angles in degrees, and the area. Computed live in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What do SSS, SAS, ASA and AAS mean?
They describe the known parts: SSS is three sides, SAS is two sides with the included angle, ASA is two angles with the side between them, and AAS is two angles with a non-included side.
Why do some inputs report an invalid triangle?
Three sides must satisfy the triangle inequality, and two angles must sum to less than 180°. Inputs that cannot form a real triangle are flagged instead of giving a result.
