Business Days Calculator

Count the working days between two dates, optionally excluding weekends.

About this tool

A business days calculator counts how many working days fall between two dates, separating weekends from the rest of the range. Enter a start and end date, and it reports both the business-day count and the total calendar days. The count is inclusive, so both endpoints are part of the result.

Weekends are excluded by default: Saturdays and Sundays are dropped based on each date's day of the week. Clear the exclude-weekends checkbox to count every calendar day instead, in which case the business-day and total-day figures match. Public holidays are never subtracted, and if the end date precedes the start, the two dates are swapped automatically before counting.

Everything runs in your browser using its local date settings — no uploads, no accounts, no tracking — and it keeps working offline once loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are both dates included in the count?
Yes. The range is inclusive, so both the start and end dates are counted.
Does it account for public holidays?
No. Only weekends are excluded; public holidays are not subtracted from the total.
Which days are treated as weekends?
Saturday and Sunday, based on each date's day of the week. The weekend days are fixed and cannot be changed to another pair such as Friday and Saturday.
Can I include weekends in the count?
Yes. Clear the exclude-weekends checkbox and every day in the range is counted, which makes the business-day total equal the total-day figure.
