Firewood Cord Calculator is a free, in-browser tool that turns the dimensions of a stacked woodpile into cords, the standard unit firewood is sold in. Enter the length and height of the stack in feet and the depth (usually the log length) in inches or feet, and it returns full cords, face cords, the raw cubic feet and, if you enter a price, the total cost. Everything is computed locally; nothing is uploaded.
A full cord is a tightly stacked pile measuring 4 ft × 4 ft × 8 ft, which equals 128 cubic feet. The tool multiplies your length × height × depth to get the stack volume in cubic feet, then divides by 128 for full cords. A face cord (also called a rick) is one row of logs measuring 4 ft high × 8 ft long by the log length deep, so it is counted as volume ÷ (32 × depth in feet) — a face cord of 16-inch logs is exactly one third of a full cord.
Use it to check whether a seller's "cord" is a true full cord or a smaller face cord before you pay, and to compare loads priced per cord. Because logs never stack perfectly, a real delivery of solid wood may sit slightly under the geometric volume, so measure the whole stacked footprint rather than individual pieces.
