About this tool
Zakat Calculator is a free, in-browser tool that works out the Zakat due on your wealth. Enter your cash and bank balances, the weight of any gold and silver with a price per gram you supply, business inventory, investments and money owed to you, then subtract short-term debts. Every figure stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and all prices are entered by you rather than fetched live.
Zakatable wealth = cash + gold value + silver value + business assets + investments + receivables − short-term debts, where gold value is grams × your gold price and silver value is grams × your silver price. The nisab (minimum threshold) is 85 g of gold × your gold price, or 595 g of silver × your silver price — you choose which basis; the silver nisab is lower and is the more commonly used, more cautious threshold. If your zakatable wealth reaches or exceeds the nisab, Zakat is 2.5% (0.025) of that wealth; otherwise no Zakat is due.
Use it as a planning estimate at the end of your lunar (hawl) year. Prices of gold and silver move daily, so enter current figures for accuracy, and consult a qualified scholar for rulings on specific or complex assets.
