Butter Converter is a free, in-browser tool that converts butter between the units recipes use: US sticks, cups, tablespoons, grams and ounces. Enter an amount, choose its unit, and every other unit is shown at once, with grams highlighted as the most precise measure. It runs entirely in your browser and uploads nothing.
Conversion goes through weight in grams using standard US butter equivalents: 1 stick = 113.4 g (¼ lb), 1 cup = 226.8 g, 1 tablespoon = 14.2 g and 1 ounce = 28.35 g. Your input is converted to grams first, then divided back out into each unit, so the numbers stay consistent no matter which unit you start from.
Use it when a recipe lists butter in a unit your packaging does not, such as converting '1 stick' to grams for a metric scale, or 'two cups' to sticks. Because butter is sold by weight, weighing in grams is the most reliable method for baking.
