Rent Split Calculator is a free, in-browser tool that divides rent and utilities among roommates and shows each person's share. Add between two and six people, choose how to split, and the amounts update live as you edit names and figures. Everything is computed on your device — no names or numbers are uploaded.
There are three methods. Equal split gives everyone total ÷ number of people. By income splits proportionally, so each person's share = total × (their income ÷ sum of incomes) — a common way to keep housing affordable when earnings differ. By room size works the same way using each person's room area, so whoever has the larger bedroom pays more. The total split always equals your rent plus utilities.
Use it to settle the monthly bill fairly or to compare methods before signing a lease: switch between equal, income and area to see how each person's payment changes.
