About this tool
The Age-Graded Running Calculator scores a race result against the best possible time for your age and sex, so runners of different ages can be compared fairly. Enter your age, sex, distance and finish time — everything is computed live in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Each distance and sex has a world-standard reference time (an open, near-elite benchmark). An age factor near 1.0 across the open-class years (about 20–30) declines with age. Your age grade is standard ÷ (your time × age factor) × 100, and your age-equivalent open time — what your run is 'worth' at open-class age — is your time × age factor. The result maps to a level: 90%+ world class, 80%+ national, 70%+ regional, 60%+ local, and below that a solid personal effort.
The standards and age factors here are a built-in reference table in the spirit of the WMA/WAVA system and are simplified, so treat the percentage as a close guide rather than an official sanctioned score. This is general fitness information, not medical advice.
