About this tool
The Rowing Split & Power Calculator converts an indoor-rowing effort into the numbers a Concept2 monitor shows: your /500m split, power in watts and calories per hour. Enter a distance and time, or a target /500m split directly. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Your split is time ÷ (distance ÷ 500), the seconds it takes to cover 500 m. Pace per metre is the split ÷ 500. Power follows the Concept2 formula watts = 2.80 ÷ pace-per-metre³, and calories per hour use their approximation cal/hr = watts × 4 × 0.8604 + 300. Enter a split with an optional distance and the tool also estimates the total time to row it.
Splits are the universal language of erg training, so this makes it easy to plan pieces, compare efforts and hit power or calorie targets. This is general fitness information, not medical advice — the calorie figure is Concept2's machine estimate and does not account for your bodyweight or efficiency.
