About this tool
The Training Volume Calculator adds up the total mechanical work in a workout — its volume load or 'tonnage' — across as many sets as you like. Enter each line as sets × reps × weight, add an optional bodyweight, and it totals everything live in your browser with nothing uploaded.
Volume load is the sum of sets × reps × weight for every line: three sets of five reps at 100 equals 1,500, and the tool adds each line together for the workout total. It also reports total reps (the sum of sets × reps) and, if you enter your bodyweight, relative volume — total tonnage ÷ bodyweight — expressed as a multiple of your bodyweight so you can compare sessions fairly as you get stronger or change weight.

What exactly is volume load or tonnage?

Should I count warm-up sets?
